Your privacy at The Master Fryer
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This explains what we do with your information when you order from The Master Fryer on our app or at order.themasterfryer.com, join our loyalty scheme or hear from us. We've kept it short and plain.
Who we are
The Master Fryer is three family-run fish and chip shops. Each shop is its own company, and the shop you order from is responsible for your information for that order:
- Crawley: Pound Hill (Caterers) Limited, company number 02417769, 1 Pound Hill Parade, Crawley RH10 7EA.
- Horsham: Roffey (Caterers) Limited, company number 10174034, 20 Fitzalan Road, Horsham RH13 6AA.
- Billingshurst: Billingshurst Caterers Ltd, company number 12063556, 12 Jengers Mead, Billingshurst RH14 9PB.
Your account and loyalty points work at all three shops, so the three companies share your account details with each other.
To contact us about your information, email the shop you use: crawley@themasterfryer.com, horsham@themasterfryer.com or billingshurst@themasterfryer.com.
What we collect
- Your details: name, email address and mobile number.
- Your orders: what you ordered, from which shop, when you collected it, what you paid and any notes you add.
- Loyalty: your points balance and loyalty card, held on our shop till system.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep the last four digits and a payment reference. If you choose to save a card, Stripe stores it.
- Your device: if you allow notifications in our app, a notification token so we can tell you when your order is ready.
- Technical information: the internet (IP) address an order came from, to help us stop fraud, and error reports when something goes wrong, to help us fix it.
- Messages: anything you send us, such as feedback or a question.
- Location: if you tap "find my nearest shop", your phone works out the nearest shop itself. Your location is not sent to us.
Why we use it
- To take and prepare your order, and to tell you about it (confirmation, ready for collection, any problem). We need this to provide what you've asked for.
- To run your account and loyalty points.
- To send you offers, but only if you've said yes. You can stop them at any time: the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to a text, or the switches in your account.
- To keep things safe and working: preventing fraud and abuse, and fixing errors. This is in our legitimate interests and yours.
- To measure our adverts on our website: when you use our website in a browser, we tell Meta (Facebook and Instagram) about orders and items viewed, with your email and phone scrambled, so we can see which adverts work. We don't do this in our app.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run the service, and only what they need:
- Stripe (payments)
- Revel Systems (our shop tills, kitchen screens and loyalty scheme)
- Apple (app notifications)
- Mailjet (offer emails, if you've opted in) and our email and text-message senders (order messages)
- Sentry (error reports)
- Vercel and Neon (the servers and database that run our ordering system)
- Meta (website adverts only, as above)
Some of these companies are based outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires (such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision).
We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
- Your account: until you delete it.
- Orders and payments: six years, because the law requires us to keep business and tax records. If you delete your account, these records are no longer linked to you.
- Offers: until you unsubscribe.
- Error reports: a few months.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information (you can also download it from your account), ask us to correct it, ask us to stop using it for offers, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app or on the website: Account › Delete my account. We remove your name, email and mobile and sign you out on every device. Your loyalty points are lost. We keep the orders themselves for our accounts, but they are no longer linked to you. We finish removing your details from our shop tills within 30 days.
Some records stay because we need them or they're held elsewhere: messages you've sent us, reviews you've posted on Google, our tills' own order records, and Stripe's payment records (including the name and mobile given with each order).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top.
